Service Technician Level I

A Service Technician is responsible for providing service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This can include: cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.

  • Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.

  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.

  • Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.

  • Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year fleet, dealership, and/or technical school experience

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in mechanical duties involving troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines, compressors, generators, turbines and/or other power driven equipment. Under direct supervision, inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: assist in diagnosing problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; assist in performing repairs and routine preventative maintenance. Support mechanical team in all activities. Familiarity with ignition systems, carburetion equipment, fuel injection systems and emissions control systems. Basic knowledge of compressor components including: lubrication systems, shutdown systems, loading and unloading valves, pistons, valves and electrical systems. Ability to record and take corrective or proactive steps on compressor logs, diaries, oil sampling, inventories of parts, equipment, lube oils and coolants. General upkeep of facilities and equipment including: engines/compressors, company vehicle, shops and tool rooms. Required Skills * Ability to assume & perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions. * Work well with others and also be able to perform work independently. * Demonstrate sound judgment. * Make decisions and corrections when problems are detected. * Have knowledge of safety rules and practices and a very good safety record. * Have proven mechanical aptitude. * Have a history of being dependable & reliable. * Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills, and a record of very positive work performance. * Read and understand repair manuals, procedures and standards. Preferred Skills: * At least 5 years of practical, gas compression mechanical experience * Ability to work with minimal supervision. * Computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications preferred. * Experience working with pressure vessels and equipment. * Vocational Tech certificates or equipment specific training preferred.
