As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III), you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on Trucks in a safe and professional manner. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you'll have the potential to work towards higher levels of Service Technician and leadership roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance checks on truck fleet before and after use. Manage damage, fuel levels, safety decals, and safety compliance:

• Perform PM services when needed

• Perform minor damage repairs (bumpers, etc.) and ensure customer chargeback

• Maximize warranty recovery

• Adhere to all corporate safety policies

• Outsource complicated / major repairs (transmissions, alignments, etc.)

• Prepare new equipment and ensure equipment is ready for end of use disposal

• Ensure location achieves "white glove service" objectives

• DOT Certified

• ASE Certified

• Diesel & Hydraulic experience (3 +)

• Able to read wiring diagrams - with diagnostic abilities

• Familiar with Regen - (will offer laptop systems for diagnosing, training)

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools

• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines

• Must own tools applicable to position

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
