Diesel Mechanic Technician

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Necessary Skills:

Highly motivated, with the knowledge, experience and ability to evaluate a customer's needs, identify and recommend the best solution, and perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • The ability to communicate and organize work flow with Fleet Service Management, Technical Team and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Problem solving and a good mechanical aptitude. Broad knowledge of complex components and how they work and interact.

  • The ability to conduct inspections, diagnostic tests, to identify worn and damaged parts, to test drive and to adjust controls and systems

  • Must be able to complete preventive maintenance, install component and part upgrades.

  • The ability to complete necessary paperwork.

Job Description:

  • Automotive Diesel Technicians perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on Diesel Vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or Ford standards

  • Diesel automotive technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification

  • Diesel Mechanics provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs

  • Explain diesel mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.

  • Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

  • Understand and achieve performance objectives for individual and team repair production.
