Clean Harbors Seymour, CT Maintenance Hub is hiring for a Diesel Mechanic. You will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repair on our company fleet, which includes both heavy and light duty vehicles. Day to day consist of working on drive lines, transmissions, suspensions, clutches, air brakes, and any other maintenance needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and vehicles

  • Safely operates gauges, forklifts, shunt truck, torches, grinders, and various hand and power tools

  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • At least one year experience preferred with light to heavy duty maintenance and repair

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Computer experience is a plus

  • Ability to work well in team environment

  • Must have own tools

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-16T00:00 Maintenance Mechanic - New Milford, CT Job Description The Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of all equipment associated with the production, packaging, and distribution of Kimberly Clark products. Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, process pumps, etc. Should also have good general skills including lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining, piping, sheet metal, etc. Must be willing to work flexible hours. Candidates should also have a strong work ethic, possess a safe work history and function effectively in a self-directed team environment. Responsibilities: * Ability to perform routine service, setup, adjustment and repairs of paper manufacturing and converting equipment (e.g. pumps, gear reducers, high speed winders, orbital saws, wrappers, packaging and conveying equipment) * Perform Predictive & Preventative tasks associated on heavy industrial manufacturing equipment * Identify and correct defects in equipment during preventative maintenance inspections * Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of typical ball & roller bearings * Perform horizontal laser equipment alignment tasks * Perform basic pipe fitting and welding * Proficient in rigging/lifting fundamentals required for large equipment replacements * Proficient at using hand tools, portable electric tools & maintenance shop equipment * Basic machinist tasks (e.g. cut and broach keyways on drive line components, minor parts modifications, etc. * Rebuild spare equipment and components * Precision measurements of bearing fits and mounting tolerances * Identify, plan, execute mechanical maintenance tasks * Work within an operations driven team environment to resolve issues and improve performance Basic Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED equivalency * Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in an industrial or commercial setting * Must be able to work day shift with occasional overtime including nights, holidays, weekends * Basic computer skills; Excel, MS Word, email * Must understand preventive/predictive/proactive maintenance concepts * Ability to perform inspections, repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical drive systems, pumps, etc. * Basic Machinist Skills * Knowledgeable of lubrication best practices Preferred Qualifications: * Two-year degree technical degree or apprenticeship or equivalent * Industrial experience with high speed equipment * Advanced machinist skills * Experience with predictive technologies (vibration analysis, ultrasonics, infrared) * Ability to handle multiple priorities * Problem solving and decision-making skills * Motivated self starter * Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with many different people daily * Work at heights, in pits and in confined spaces * Work with no supervision or in a team to complete work on time Kimberly-Clark and its well-known global brands are an indispensable part of life for people in more than 175 countries.
