Clean Harbors Seymour, CT Maintenance Hub is hiring for a Diesel Mechanic. You will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repair on our company fleet, which includes both heavy and light duty vehicles. Day to day consist of working on drive lines, transmissions, suspensions, clutches, air brakes, and any other maintenance needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and vehicles

  • Safely operates gauges, forklifts, shunt truck, torches, grinders, and various hand and power tools

  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • At least one year experience preferred with light to heavy duty maintenance and repair

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Computer experience is a plus

  • Ability to work well in team environment

  • Must have own tools

Under supervision, a Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of tasks in the 3M Meriden plant: * Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve building/manufacturing equipment * Perform independent preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on * Web handling production equipment, ultrasonic welders, pleaters, pumps, heat exchangers, building HVAC, and facility utilities * Perform basic welding, machining, and fabrication tasks using shop equipment, power tools, and precision measurement instruments * Document work in maintenance tracking systems and develop/refine standard work for maintenance activities Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: * Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution * Minimum of Three (3) years of mechanical or mechatronic work in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: * Must be able to pass the required 3M test battery * Experience in a plant manufacturing environment * Self-starter with the ability to work independently * Possess good documentation skills and can read and understand mechanical prints * Basic understanding of predictive/preventative maintenance and condition monitoring techniques * Ability & willingness to work * Rotating weekends as needed * Overtime * Holidays as needed Travel: Not required Relocation: Is not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
