What you will be doing

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers and trailer refrigeration units.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment problems.

• Answer drivers' telephone request for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road.

• Maintain and repair all equipment (tractors, trailers, trailer refrigeration units, converter gears) to include engines, starting and charging, cooling, electrical, body, wheels, brakes and suspension.

• Follow all company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.

• Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.

The position will be based in Irvine, CA

Competitive Wages - The hourly rate for this role is $33.06 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

What we are searching for

• Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic or combination of formal/technical education and directly related experience.

• Must be 18 years of age or older, with a valid driver's license.

• Current CDL license (preferred)

• Must supply own tools up to 1 ¼" size with the proper tool box, including air tools

• Ability to reach, lift and work objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Ability to push and pull heavy equipment.

• Manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and high places.

• Ability to stand, walk and work in close quarters, prone and awkward positions for lengthy periods occasionally.

• Mental alertness and good vision are necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.

• Exposure to hazards exist with respect to equipment, work areas, tools welding equipment, presses and other power equipment.

• Must be able to work full time.
