General Summary:

Perform standard maintenance and repair on all company vehicles including Class 8 fleet trucks.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles including oil changes, transmission service, tire replacement, and all other general maintenance duties.

• Complete and sign off on all work orders as assigned by the Fleet Supervisor.

• Perform and sign off on vehicle inspections to comply with DOT regulations.

• Ability to diagnose and perform electrical repair.

• Ability to perform A/C diagnosis and repair.

• Repair or replace defective brakes, transmissions, drive trains, and rear ends.

• Will occasionally be required to respond to calls to perform roadside breakdown repairs.

• Responsible for the completion of other related assignments as required by the Fleet Supervisor.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

• Normal reading and writing skills. Legible handwriting.

• Valid Drivers License and CDL preferred.

• General knowledge of DOT inspection guidelines.

• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and to understand traffic signs, to make entries on reports and records.

• Basic computer and technical skills.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
