We are seeking a talented and experienced Diamond Turning Technician IV to join our dynamic team.
As the Diamond Turning Technician you will follow standard procedure and operate precision machining systems in the Diamond Turning Department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Precision Machining
Accurately program and operate Diamond Flycutters, including Nanoform 200/600 aspheric Generator machine
Learn to use other advanced precision machinery as time permits
Learn Virtual Gibbs program
Part Handling, Inspection, Identification
Identify surface quality of various materials such as copper, aluminum, zinc, etc.
Read from blue prints to determine requirement of part
Clean parts using acetone and other cleaning chemicals
Use measuring and inspection devices to measure, inspect parts, and check surface roughness
Paperwork/Computer Systems
Use DCD System and standard computer systems
Complete required reports
Report all poor results or problems to supervisor
Training
Train other Techs as required
May be assigned a Lead
Education & Experience
Minimum 6 years of directly related training and/or experience
High School or GED, and completion of CNC Programming Trade school or relevant course work preferred
Skills
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angle and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Language Skills
Ability to effectively preset information in one-on-one and small groups
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
