We are seeking a Diamond Turning Technician in our Newtown, CT facility. This position executes key phases of semiconductor wafer chuck manufacturing. As a Diamond Turning Technician, you'll operate diamond turning equipment and perform various component production operations within designated processes. Second shift schedule is Monday
Friday, 3:00pm
11:30 pm; 3rd shift is Sunday
Thursday 11:00pm
7:30 am the following day.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Operate diamond turning equipment.
Run CNC programs for diamond turning or diamond grinding operations.
Conduct preventative maintenance on diamond turning equipment, including mechanical and electronic adjustments.
Understand and follow target specifications and tolerances.
Use inspection equipment and measuring devices to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Evaluate procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to production
Perform scheduled inspection of work (including documentation of results) and verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications
Confer with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve issues
Maintain safe, clean, orderly and organized work areas
Accurate and timely completion and organization of required paperwork
Perform all other duties, as assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Related experience in high-precision R&D/manufacturing environment
Experience with manufacturing process improvement initiatives
Basic computer skills and mathematical calculator proficiency.
Knowledgeable in precision inspection and measurement devices (indicators, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, and optical flats).

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process procedures
Good manual dexterity
Fine motor skills - able to manipulate small components
Clean and organized

Metrology: Must be skilled in the use of hand and electronic gauging (inspection less than .0001 inches) and other electronic equipment
Able to get along well with others
Able to work overtime, as required
Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds
Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility
Walking/standing a minimum of 8 hours per day
Safety Requirements
