Dialysis Travel Registered Nurse / RN
The Dialysis Travel Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for assigned patients and assists in care of other patients as needed.The Dialysis Travel Registered Nurse performs all technical aspects ofdialysis procedures including:
  • Assessing patient response to dialysis therapy.
  • Making appropriate adjustments and modifications to treatment plans as indicated/directed by supervisors or prescribed by the physician.
  • Assessment of patient pre, interim, and post dialysis and documentation of findings.
  • Administer medications as ordered to assigned patients.
  • Assessing educational needs of patient and educating the patient and family regarding end stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.

Job Requirements for our Dialysis Travel Registered Nurse
  • 1+ year of experience as a dialysis nurse
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Current TX or compactRN License in good standing
  • CNN Preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • Able to work independently while striving for the best in patient care

Job Summary and Qualifications Recruiter to insert Job Summary and requirements here * You will assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. * You will assess patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards. * You will teach patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. You will perform various types of dialysis therapies, including hemodialysis, SLED, CRRT, plasmapheresis, ultrafiltration, and peritoneal dialysis. * You will perform appropriate patient monitoring pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis treatment. Completes and documents testing of dialysate for Conductivity, pH, and proper temperature. * You will provide access-related care to initiate dialysis therapy, including cannulation of dialysis fistula/graft and accessing dialysis catheter or peritoneal catheter. * Basic Cardiac Life Support * Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation: Required * If hired on a compact license from a different state, must obtain TX RN license within 90 days of hire * BLS: Required upon Hire * < 1 year applicable experience: Required * Registered Nurse * Associate Degree St. David's HealthCare, which is one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area.
