A Dialysis Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care at one of DCI's in-center hemodialysis units as part of a patient care team. Our RNs are integral in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes are prioritized for every patient.

Schedule: This is a float position between our Hospital Services Program and our In-Center Clinic in Lyerly. Full-time, three 12-hour shifts; Sundays off; no overnight shifts

Compensation: Starting pay for new Nurses with no experience is $26.50. Pay amount increases based on nursing and dialysis experience.

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

  • Prepare dialysis machine, its alarms, and treatment supplies and ensure quality standards are met Perform hemodialysis treatments per facility policies and procedures Ongoing patient education, training and health coaching Monitor patients during dialysis, assessing and communicating changes with physician and families Administer and chart all prescribed medications Follow CDC/CMS infection control regulations Participate in patient care conferences, rounds and chart reviews Document required patient education efforts Facilitate continuity of care with local hospitals Assist in medication inventory maintenance Lead a small patient care team Contribute to onboarding new staff members as directed Additional tasks as requested

Education/Training: Accredited nursing degree required Dialysis experience required DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive training, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training

Your primary work will include the supervision, management, coordination and provision of quality patient care while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and maintaining the highest standards of care. You may occasionally provide one on one hospice and palliative care to patients in the home setting, and when required, may fulfill role as Agency Supervising Nurse.</p><ul><li><p>Participates with the physician, referral sources, Clinical/Branch Director and professional staff in decisions regarding patient eligibility and suitability for the hospice program and coordinates hospice care services from admission through bereavement.</p></li><li><p>Coordinates with physicians, case managers, the patient, families and interdisciplinary team to implement that patient plan of care.</p></li><li><p>Coordinates regular interdisciplinary team conferences and promotes communication of information relevant to the patient care process to ensure quality of care and coordination of services.</p></li><li><p>Participates in agency quality assurance activities designed to improve quality and continuity of patient care which includes reviews of medical records, ensure adequate staffing, training and evaluating staff.</p></li></ul><p>Required</p><ul><li><p>Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.</p></li><li><p>Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the company.</p></li><li><p>One (1 ) years of supervisory and/or management experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare environment.</p></li><li><p>One (1 ) year of RN experience in a Home Health or Hospice environment.</p></li><li><p>Current CPR certification.</p></li></ul><p>Amedisys is an equal opportunity employer.
