Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate effective use of supplies and staff labor hours.

  • May assist with billing log preparation and updates.

  • Perform duties as assigned to meet the patient care or operational needs of the clinic

  • Obtain blood samples for laboratory analysis as required to complete physician orders.

  • Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles.

  • Knowledge of and comply with applicable health care professionals practice act requirements.

  • Perform duties at all times under the supervision of a Charge Nurse and within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations

  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and appropriate documentation in the patient record of all treatments, activities, and communication with the patient, physician and other healthcare professionals to include progress reports.

  • Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.

  • Report machine problems to Biomedical Technician and Administrator.

  • Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-service and continuing education offerings in compliance with company policy and procedure.

  • Assist with staff training as requested.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • Current LVN/LPN license in applicable state. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.

  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Confirmation of ability to distinguish all primary colors.

  • Previous dialysis experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Must be able to organize time and tasks well.

  • Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.

  • Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.

Under the supervision of the RN(s), directs and guides patient teaching and activities that commensurate with his/her education and demonstrated competencies.</p><p>What you bring to the table</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred</li></ul><p>Licenses/Certifications:</p><ul><li><p>Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)</p></li><li><p>Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) within the state</p></li><li><p>Current CPR certification</p></li></ul><p>What you will do</p><ul><li><p>Under supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists in the assessment of the physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients in the Health Care Unit and, as necessary, in the housing units.</p></li><li><p>Assists in planning an individual treatment program by using available resources in planning care, and consults with RNs and other staff as appropriate while applying knowledge and resources in planning care and patient teaching.</p></li><li><p>Implements individualized treatment programs as directed by the Health Care Practitioner.</p></li><li><p>Count controlled substances, syringes, needles and sharps at the beginning of each shift with another staff member and sign count logs.</p></li><li><p>Implements clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Intervenes with proper safety techniques, procedures and standard precautions.</p></li><li><p>Responds to a code or health emergency within standard guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Implements medical plan through administering medications in accordance with Health Care Practitioner's orders and protocols: Administers medications according to proper techniques and procedures including IV therapy (when certified) and all other approved routes of administration. Uses pharmacy knowledge and available resources to include drug reaction and overdose in administration of medications.</p></li><li><p>Implements medical plans through obtaining diagnostic tests in accordance with Health Care Practitioner's orders and protocols: Obtains body fluid specimens and performs EKG's using proper techniques and procedures.
