NSTX diagnostics Technician assists with the installation, maintenance and operation of diagnostics instrumentation utilizing approved procedures under supervision and guidance of a senior technician or engineer in charge.
Install new and repair or maintain existing diagnostics, involving various electrical, electronic devices under guidance of supervisor.
Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, procedures and specifications to determine how best to fabricate, install, repair and remove parts and systems in experimental areas within the requirements of the procedures, drawings and Engineering Work Packages provided.
Install, troubleshoot, maintain and un-install various types of parts and equipment in experimental areas as needed.
Use hand and power tools and testing equipment.
Requires prior knowledge and experience working with electrical and electronic measuring and sensing devices; in addition to relevant electro-mechanical aptitude
Experience with soldering, PCB's and precision measurement instruments
Technical institute or AA degree with 3 to 5 years of experience; or no degree and 5 + years of experience
