Proficient in performing quality diagnostic procedures in compliance with physician's orders, department policies & procedures.
Sonographer is competent scanning with any department machine, completing exams within the department, portable exams, and OR procedures.
Responsible for safe operation of various ultrasound scanning devices.
Competency in all exams including but not limited to abdominal, OB/gyn., small parts, and vascular.
Performs procedures in accurate, timely, cost effective manner.
Proficient in assisting the radiologist in invasive procedures.
Knowledgeable of the supplies needed for various invasive procedures and proficient in organizing and setting up these supplies for the radiologist.
Maintains a clean and orderly procedural area.
Understands equipment function, US physics, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and scanning techniques/protocols.
Associate degree from an accredited School of Ultrasound (2 year minimum); or
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology, and graduate of a School of Ultrasound (2 year program); or
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible. (Must be RVT registered w/in 3 months of hire date)
