Job Summary: Works with patients and individuals in the community, with deference to age and cultural diversity.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the Diabetes Education Program to meet the needs of customers of the Pinnacle Health System and the local community. Collaborates with other health care professionals and educators to share expertise and assure quality education. Acts as a resource person for staff, patients, and community members.
Registered Nurse with current Pennsylvania License.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Minimum 2 years Medical/Surgical experience. Certified Diabetes Educator or ability to complete certification testing within one year of hire.
Must demonstrate clinical competence, interpersonal and communication skills, and understand principles of education. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification preferred.
Certified Diabetes Educator with minimum of three years' diabetes education experience preferred.
