POSITION SUMMARY

MassMutual Human Resources is currently seeking a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Consultant to join the D&I team and help continue to advance our leadership-driven strategy to build cultural competence and inclusion in the workplace. Reporting to the Head of Diversity & Inclusion, the consultant will evolve and manage MassMutual's BRG strategy to strengthen business value, collaboration and development, providing guidance and support to our eight BRGs. In addition to overseeing the strategy, will serve as liaison to one or more business resource groups, providing day-to-day support. Will partner with Talent to foster new, and deepen existing, recruiting and development outreach opportunities to solidify MassMutual as an employer of choice. Will make data-based decisions leveraging metrics, benchmarking, best practices and voice of the customer (VOC) to design programs and initiatives to advance D&I at MassMutual. Will be responsible for overseeing vendors and corporate partners, and supporting D&I strategic initiatives as appropriate.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Oversees the strategic direction for MassMutual's eight BRGs

  • Identifies and fosters strategic partnerships and innovative methods to support recruiting and talent sourcing

  • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to implement innovative and holistic strategies and solutions to drive action and change

  • Implements moderate to complex change management initiatives, and reviews current programs to ensure alignment to MassMutual People and D&I strategy

  • Influences and inspires others to change mindsets and behaviors

  • Serves as an advisor, coach, consultant, and partner on BRG and D&I outreach matters

  • Makes data-based decisions, creating, leveraging and interpreting metrics, benchmarking, best practices and VOC

  • Leads complex projects and solves problems that require considerable judgment and may have significant impact for the company

  • Designs and delivers learning sessions

  • Facilitates difficult conversations at all levels

  • Creates communications related to strategic projects

  • Understands and champions broader MassMutual People strategy and initiatives

  • Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience

  • Has at least 8+ yrs of related or transferable experience

  • Ability to create and execute a strategic plan

  • Strong consultative, influencing, communication, and facilitation skills

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience in analyzing and interpreting numerical data

  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to develop and implement plans and timelines

  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, focus on results, be creative, flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment

  • Innovative, solutions-focused individual, with ability to turn ideas into action

  • Strong team player who works collaboratively and is able to build trust and credibility within complex organizational relationships

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge of D&I management, excelling in 1-2 areas of focus

  • Change management expertise
