ITA is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer SME to join our team at Eglin Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

ITA is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer SME to play a pivotal role in supporting the U.S. Air Force's 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (SWW). The 350th SWW, a unique entity under the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC), consists of the 850th and 350th Spectrum Warfare Groups (SWG) and nine Electronic Warfare Squadrons (EWS). It is dedicated to providing warfighters with adaptive strategies and tactics for electromagnetic dominance in combat scenarios.

As a DevSecOps Engineer SME, your primary responsibility will be to utilize your extensive technical expertise in DevSecOps to guide and mentor the team. You will offer strategic subject matter expertise (SME) and leadership in developing an enterprise-level, secure software development process. This role involves fostering a collaborative environment that supports continuous integration, as well as the delivery of software, tools, and pipelines (CI/CD), directly benefiting the 350th SWW leadership and squadron stakeholders.

Your duties will include:

  • Work closely with the 350 SWW Chief Technology Office (CTO) and key squadron software engineers by contributing to the design of mission information and operational support systems and strategies (Solutions).

  • Leverage agile software methodologies and development expertise to develop policies, procedures, standards, and strategies that deliver end-to-end automation to include deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.

  • Support the definition, design, and strategy implementation of on-premise and cloud-based Solutions driven by CI/CD software practices.

  • Give subject matter expertise to 350th SWW, CTO, and subordinate units which help build delivery environments that support CD/CI tools using an DevSecOps and agile methodologies.

  • Dispense strategic technical guidance to 350th SWW, CTO, and subordinate units that need assistance in creating scripts and/or templates that automate tasks.

  • Collaborate with 350th SWW, CTO, and subordinate units to evaluate software, pipeline, and automation performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, developing solutions, and implementing them with the assistance of the 350 SWW, CTO, squadrons, and stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

  • Provide technical assistance with Enterprise Application Development.

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance or higher desired; Candidates without clearances must be able to obtain a Secret clearance (U.S. Citizen, clean background, etc). Eligible for TS/SCI.

Minimum 10 or more years' experience with most of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience with DEVSECOPS, specifically secure development, coding, and engineering practices; experience with automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from code commits to production.

  • Solid experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based cloud environments.

  • Experience in administering and performance tuning of software application stacks.

  • Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring web applications in various on-premise and cloud environments.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure testing strategies.

  • Experience with systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, logging.

Desired:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related area.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to provide consultative and strategic leadership in a collaborative manner.

  • Experience with various programming languages such as, but not limited to, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy, Helm, Perl etc.

  • Strong scripting skills, including shell scripts.

  • Ability to work in an open team environment.

  • Security first mindset.
