Description

We are seeking an outstanding software professional with a passion for DevOps, microservices, cloud native applications, and software development to help solve some of the most challenging national security problems. We need full stack developers who are willing to develop solutions and automate the testing and deployment of these solutions into complex environments. You will work on a high-performing team to build and deploy next generation cloud native systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with microservices, cloud native applications, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and full stack web development experience.

The developer may be expected to:

  • Manage a Kubernetes cluster running Docker containers

  • Configure and maintain microservice infrastructure components on multiple networks

  • Automate configurations to deploy to different environments and networks

  • Research and evaluate related technologies and ensure optimal design that supports the organization's mission

  • Assure the application has acceptable performance through a technical understanding of the environment

  • Gather requirements, design, develop and test high-reliability applications, and provide end user support as needed

  • Work with customers in defining and negotiating requirements

  • Manage software application code using standard processes, version control and problem tracking software expediently and accurately

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree and five years or more experience OR 9 years of experience or more in lieu of degree; OR Masters degree and three years or more experience; OR PhD and 0 years of related experience.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

  • Experience with cloud native infrastructure services

  • Experience with DevOps technologies such as Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Nexuss

  • Spring Framework and Spring Boot

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing micro-services or RESTful web services

  • Experience with cloud native infrastructure (e.g. Hashicorp Consul/Vault, Ambassador, Redis, Elasticstack, Envoy)

  • Experience with Puppet, Ansible, or other configuration and automation technologies

  • Experience or familiarity with RedHat Openshift

  • Experience or familiarity with NoSQL databases

  • Git, Jenkins experience for fully automated CI/CD pipelines along with docker based test environment

  • Experience with different java-based test and performance tools

  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment

  • Web application back-end development experience

  • Active DOE L or Q clearance

ISSA develops physics-based, 3D, terrain aware simulations that analyze a system's performance including the interplay between its components including sensing, energy, cyber, and personnel.
