As a DEVOPS SOFTWARE ENGINEER, you will be involved in the following:

  • Architect and develop mobile applications & software packages used by P&W and its customers/partners to produce and maintain gas turbine engines and components

  • Participate in the generation of requirements and the design of best in class business processes and information systems

  • Plan and execute tests to verify proper operation of software

  • Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of delivered systems

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to software, including requirements, design documentation, build paperwork, and issue tracking

  • Work in a collaborative environment with other engineering disciplines, program management, and the customer community RESPONSIBILITIES: Focus on user design centric principles

  • Manage the continuous integration build environment and tools for globally distributed software development teams

  • Support tools and processes to improve our quality through build, branch and source control efficiency, and drive the solutions from DEV, QA, all the way to production

  • Create continuous DevOps solutions, including: continuous integration, continuous automated testing, continuous deployment, and continuous configuration management

  • Implement and maintain installers for web sites, client applications, and mobile applications on the iOS and Android platform

  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, installation and configuration issues for a multitude of Windows, Android, Apple iOS and Linux components

  • Disciplined at prioritizing tasks and a willingness to seek guidance when there are conflicts

  • Fosters collaboration through open designs reviews and able to turn technical feedback into improved design

  • Leverages personal experience, industry best practices, and domain knowledge to provide elegant software to complex problems

  • Provides technical leadership for software project teams of 1-5+ software developers (onshore/offshore, insourced/outsourced) Provides reliable estimates of effort and accurate identification of risks

  • Leads design reviews on software architecture, interface designs, and component design

  • Mentors junior developers in software engineering fundamentals

  • Quickly gains business and system knowledge for a set of related components

  • Contributes significantly on requirements analysis and system design

  • Leverages industry leading software engineering processes (agile, TDD, CI) and makes process improvements

  • Coding experience using object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C#,Java)

  • Experience in broad programming areas including library development, GUI development, hardware/software interaction, databases, desktop-based applications, web-based applications, and development best practices

  • Ability to independently assess, develop, and organize solutions to problems.

  • May involve coordination with customers, management, and other engineering disciplines.
