About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer in technology as part of The Wealth and Investment Management Technology (WIMT) team. The Wealth and Investment Management Technology (WIMT) DevSecOps Engineering Enablement team provides support for Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) line of business applications. This includes Brokerage Platform systems supporting our Financial Advisors and external customers with trading (equity, fixed income, etc.), account management, and an assortment of industry leading wealth management products and services. The team partners with all teams within WIMT, upskilling software and platform engineers on the latest best practices and automated solutions. The team also plays a key role in enabling and driving forward the agile acceleration and DevOps changes currently underway.
We are hiring a DevOps Principal Engineer to join the WIMT DevSecOps Engineering Enablement Team. In this role you will deliver enterprise capabilities that improve overall engineering efficiencies and productivity of ~500 applications across WIM. We are looking for a Principal Engineer who enjoys leading large transformational efforts and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale.
You will join an elite team of engineers driving Technology's transformation by introducing enterprise capabilities and products, launching new platforms, building tools, automating away complex issues, and integrate with the latest technology. The team leverages their experience as software engineers and systems engineers/administrators, working closely with the rest of the WIMT application development and platform teams. The team represents the "voice of the customer" (application and platform engineers), to assist in maturation of, and operational readiness assessment of new enterprise Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Testing (CI/CD/CT) solutions. In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

2+ years of development experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, C#, C, or .NET
Strong leadership skills, ability to lead and influence enterprise scale technology transformation efforts
Experience with modern deployment strategies: Rolling, Blue-Green, Canary, Feature Flags
Experience with industry standard Security coding practices and scanning tooling (SAST, SCA)
Experience with one or more Testing Frameworks: Selenium, JMeter, Blazemeter, Cucumber, Gherkin, Octane, Chaos Engineering (Chaos Monkey, Toxiproxy, Gremlin), JUnit, NUnit, XUnit, Jest.
Experience with one or more Data/Data Structures: Oracle, MS SQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, S3
