Position Description: Vocera is looking for a talented, hands-on DevOps Engineer focused on Windows to join our growing organization. You will be joining a high-performance DevOps team responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that automate, and monitor windows application deployment in Amazon AWS GovCloud. You will work with our Kanban-based team and be involved developing tools required for deployment, monitoring, security and auditing. This position is part of the Products organization and reports directly to the Manager of DevOps.


  • Develop and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, security and auditing for Windows and Linux based software stack

  • Work within team to get task done on time

  • Produce quality code and deliver features on-time

  • On Call experience with incident response handling (PagerDuty)


  • Ability to demonstrate past accomplishments developing consumer grade automation using configuration management tools

  • Ability to independently execute against deadlines.

  • Passionate about DevOps and modern DevOps toolset

  • Resourceful, able to solve complex problems using online and team resources


  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience around AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, VPC-VPN, IPSEC, Cloudformation, route53, CloudTrail, CloudWatch)

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Required

  • Strong experience with Windows 2012 Server Administration (IIS, SMTP, FTPS, AD)

  • Experience with Databases MySQL, Microsoft SQL

  • Experience with Ansible for Configuration / Infrastructure automation

  • Experience using Git, Jira, Build management Java / Dotnet

  • Experience with Packer, Ansible, Windows-ansible, PowerShell, Bash

  • Experience with Squid, Haproxy, Samba

  • Experience with Python programming languages

  • Experience with Monitoring toolset (Prometheus and Monit)

  • Operational experience of managing large scale SAAS application.

  • Experience with DevSecOps (Wazuh, OSSSEC or other Centralized ID IPS)

  • Experience with AWS GovCloud and Compliance (FIPS, CIS, SOCKS) is a definite plus

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana for Centralized monitoring or other use case is a definite plus

  • Experience with Go Programming is a definite plus
