Position Overview

Desired Experience:

  • Proficient with multiple scripting languages (ie Python, groovy, bash, etc.)

  • Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, APIs, etc

  • Automated testing concepts and frameworks (for example, PyUnit, Unittest, go test, etc.)

  • Experience with Linux

  • Experience with Docker/Kunbernetes

  • Jenkins Pipeline DSL experience and familiarity with Jenkins Shared Libraries

  • Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, etc.

  • Continuous integration and Delivery principals and best practices

  • Source control and configuration management principals and workflow patterns using Git

  • Some knowledge of configuration management tools (ie Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

  • Experience with DevOps ToolChain platforms (for example, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonarqube, etc.)

  • Familiar with micro services and relevant technologies such as orchestration, service discovery, service meshes, etc.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to design and implement highly-available and fault-tolerant solutions

  • Understanding of Agile software development concepts (for example, Scrum, Kanban)

  • Ability to schedule, estimate, priorities and deliver to commitments with a number of parallel ongoing efforts

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Proven ability to communicate using oral and written methods

  • Passion and interest to continually yourself automate yourself out of a job

Technical Writing/Documentation Knowledge of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.

As a Security Architect Sr. within PNC's Security organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, or Columbus, OH. S/He will have a deep background in hands-on development with an emphasis in secure coding. S/He must have superlative communication skills. S/He should understand both legacy development concepts as well as DevOps, in order to facilitate the following: * Translating the concepts of legacy application security into the new DevOps model. * Understanding industry trends and the complexities of handling cloud native development (including pipeline and PaaS) that spans both multi-cloud and cloud/on-prem hybrid models. * Be a key part for understanding the devOps tool chain, and have key interdiction points have established security controls. * Bet the primary contact for introduction of new or enhanced controls * Be the key POC for Engineering teams that will use the tool chain, provide training, and general usage. Be an active practitioner * Be fluent in both code and product in order to: o Create and standardize secure coding practices that can be governed by security in an automated fashion o Partner with the DevOps team to create a secure-from-inception mindset in their coding and in the way they train new developers o Be a trusted advisor to the DevOps team around product selection, security best practices, and automation principles o Understand, articulate, and drive resolutions around the challenges of security practices such as digital identity, secrets management, ingress/egress handling, etc. in microservice development and microservice meshes both on-prem and in the cloud.
