A Day in the Life and Expertise Required:

  • Preferably 5 years of experience working in a DevOps environment

  • Develop and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems

  • Experience with VSTS, code/configuration management, and pipeline setup

  • Scripting/JSON experience required

  • Azure experience a significant plus

  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

The tasks of the Flight Test Engineer are related to the aircraft status before, during and after flight, as well as the proper execution of the entire ground/flight acceptance tests. The FTE Acceptance is in charge of the technical follow up of the aircraft from Handover to flight line until the Customer acceptance. Under their responsibility they may delegate work to a Ground Test Engineer. The FTE Acceptance ensures, under the Captain's responsibility, the adequate aircraft configuration for the intended flight. Essential Functions: * The Flight Test Engineer Acceptance (FTE Acceptance) and the Ground Test Engineer (GTE) are working together as a team. * With the support of the GTE, the tasks of the FTE Acceptance are related to the aircraft status and management during the overall ground and flight activities, as well as the proper execution of the related tests. * Together with the GTE, the FTE Acceptance is in charge of the technical follow up of the aircraft from Handover to Flight Test until the Customer Acceptance. In this scope, they may require additional tests (ground or flight) to ensure satisfactory completion of production test activities. * The FTE has responsibility for the execution of the flight acceptance tests that are a part of the Production Aircraft Test Manual (PATM) and the Customer Acceptance Manual (CAM). The FTE Acceptance ensures, under the Captain's responsibility, the adequate aircraft configuration for the intended flight by: * Checking that the aircraft actual configuration is in accordance with the definition * Verifying independently the technical status of the aircraft * Technically accepting the aircraft (checking and signing the technical log book on behalf of the Captain) * Writing the Flight Order (including the flight dispatch manifest, if relevant), which is signed by the FTE and the Captain * Calculating weight and balance and take-off data * Actively participating in the test execution/system operation and/or verification * Recording parameters during test and monitoring flight test recorders and/or flight test installation if installed * Filling in the technical log book * Writing up the Acceptance Flight Crew Report * Ensuring that all relevant data related to his operations are entered into information system. The FTE, by written delegation from the Head of Production Flight Test: * Approve the Flight Conditions Form * Co-signs the Technical Acceptance Completion, * Co-signs the Production Aircraft Test Completion Certificate. Additional Responsibilities: * The FTE can be responsible to prepare and assist the pilot during Rejected Take-Off * The FTE may be involved under Development Flight Test responsibility in the Development phase of a new Aircraft, including a prototype (Airplane & Cabin) according to Flight Operations Manual for flight classification. Education/Special Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Aeronautics or 3 years working in a technical department for an aviation company * Ability to travel to Europe for a training time of 6 months. Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: * 2 or more years of experience as a Flight Test Engineer * Qualified from a Flight Test School approved by EASA Working Conditions/Physical Demands: * Vision:adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions * Hearing:able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. * Speaking:able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. * Equipment Operation:Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Working on jigs at fuselage at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet. * Carrying:able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. * Lifting:able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg. * Pushing/Pulling:able to push/pull items in office areas. * Sitting:able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings. * Squatting/Kneeling:able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. * Standing:able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. * Travel:able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. * Walking:able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
