Job Description: DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer will be a contributor towards the Release Management life cycle which includes scheduling, coordinating, controlling, and delivering quality software through the continuous delivery pipeline while managing application releases and shippable products across the P97 platform. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, projects, and programs. This position works cross-functionally with development, testing, infrastructure, and operations teams to enhance the software engineering processes and practices specifically for continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. The position drives Azure cloud adoption, process automation and software delivery automation by building and managing a DevOps pipeline that delivers significant business value and enables developers to become more efficient in delivering quality software to production in short development cycles.

Responsibilities:

• Deployment & configuration of business solutions and applications

• Technologies: TypeScript, ASP.NET and C#

• Platforms: Azure App Service, Azure WebJobs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Function Apps, Azure Virtual Machines (Linux & Windows)

• Configuring, provisioning and maintaining Azure PaaS Services

• Services: Azure AD B2C, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Cognitive/AI Search, Azure Redis Cache, Azure Service Bus, Azure Key Vault, Azure Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Azure Alerts, Azure Log Analytics

• Responsible for deployment of iOS and Android based mobile apps.

• Preparation of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Bitbucket.

• Writing deployment scripts in Python and PowerShell.

• Provide support for Azure cloud PaaS across all environments, from development to production.

• Engage in production support activities as Level 3 support.

• Drive Incident/Problem resolution by assisting in key operational activities in terms of delivery, fixes, and supportability with operations staff and/suppliers.

• Ensure that end-to-end performance is monitored and maintained to high level of quality, standards, supportability, and operability as defined within negotiated and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and to propose and implement necessary Service Improvements.

• Responsible for ensuring the Application portfolio is compliant with the relevant IT controls and information security standards & baselines.

• Converting pre-existing Azure infrastructure to IaC using Terraform

Key Success Factors:

• Responsible for the execution/deployment of releases.

• Promote Continuous Improvement culture within own scope of accountability.

• Must be prepared to be on call after hours.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• One year of experience in an Azure cloud environment, supporting critical business applications.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of PaaS/IaaS based infrastructure.

• Knowledge of infrastructure landscapes including underlying infrastructure concepts.

• Knowledge of automated deployments.

Preferrable:

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.

• Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Function Apps.

• Experience with IaC, preferably Terraform.

• Experience with monitoring API metrics and system logs, troubleshooting and detecting issues.

• Experience in DR (Disaster Recovery) and GRS (Geo-Redundant Strategy).

• Experience with iOS and Android deployments.

• Experience with JIRA/Confluence/Atlassian integrations.
