DevOps-as-a-Service provider, Bluelight Consulting, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its growing team.

We specialize in working with Kubernetes for cloud-native projects in GCP, AWS, and Serverless. Our engineers enjoy wearing many technology hats of a small boutique firm without corporate headaches. We work Monday-Friday, with flexible hours.

Our engineers love making decisions in real-time. They work hands-on with technologies like GKE/EKS, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD, and more.

*We are hiring for multiple DevOps Engineer roles from Staff level to Lead Engineer. All roles are 100% remote.

Requirements

  • Cloud Engineering (cloud computing) experience with AWS and/or GCP to include load balancing
  • Infrastructure as a code, specifically Terraform / Pulumi / Cloudformation experience
  • Design and maintain CI/CD process and tools (specifically CircleCI, GitLab, Jenkins)
  • In-depth experience with the orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes
  • In-depth experience with the YAML config management tools, especially Helm & Ansible
  • Testing, code review, good communication skills
  • Fully professional English fluency

Nice to have qualifications:

  • AWS Professional Certificates
  • Kubernetes Certificates
  • Google Cloud Certificates

Duties:

  • Architect and integrate new applications along with occasional legacy applications
  • Build and maintain, update tool for deployment, monitoring, operations, and security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, testing, and production environments
  • Structure and maintain software config management systems
  • Scale for demand

Amazon is now searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Sr. Operations Engineer to be a part of our global initiative of developing and delivering the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support. This position is responsible for coordination, communication, risk management and for serving as liaison between Fulfillment Center Operations, Program Management, Product Management, Operations Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Product IT. This role will require the ability to build relationships and capture and synthesize the voice of the customer. Their primary goal is to own the coordination and execution of installation, commissioning, and performance ramp up of the product in the field allowing the engineering and product team to focus on the system performance improvement and optimization. In parallel with the Product Beta performance ramp, the PLM will work with the RDE team to share lessons learned and best practices that enable product deployment at scale. As a Sr. Operations Engineer for Amazon Robotics and Advanced Technologies Launch (RATL), you will be able to work with some of the most talented engineers in the design, development, and delivery of new technological systems around the globe. You will lead installations of complex cross-functional projects or programs that focus on the building of new, the alteration of existing, and the closing of end-of-life material handling and technology systems. As a working leader, you are able to take the lead on the implementation and delivery of large system designs and advanced technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency. You participate in the full system development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and solution quality needs. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Establish and maintain a safe work environment following all local, State and Amazon specific standards and requirements. * Lead and manage the installation of complex cross-functional projects with considerable impact. Projects may span organizations or geographies in support of a business objective. * Define projects (scope, delivery, budget), set objectives, analyze data, drive improvements to metrics, and influence resource allocation. * Responsible to deep dive technical solutions that encompass advanced technology applications, conveyor hardware selection, material handling integration, and vendor commissioning content and expectations. * Lead and coordinate execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout. * Lead and actively participate in design reviews and communicate future impacts of proposed solutions on an individual system or its components, on the overall systems architecture, and on facility processes. * Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team. * Capture and synthesize the Voice of Customer (VoC) for all new product introductions and leverage this information to prioritize system defects and lead the triage efforts with product Development teams applying lessons learned with the Product, RDE, and ETS teams to enable acceleration and deployment scale. * Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing. * Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center/Sort Center leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders. * Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in support of operations teams within a geographic node. * Develop cross-functional knowledge of Operations and Engineering team systems, processes, procedures, and tools. * Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time. * Travel up to 80% throughout North America, which can vary up to three weeks consecutive travel including weekends. Come help us make history! * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technologies, Electrical Engineering or other STEM field degrees; or 2+ year's relevant Amazon experience. * 7+ years' experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation. * 3+ years' experience directly managing and responsible for large material handling or automation installations in a construction environment to include safety and permitting requirements. * Design and/or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions, such as complex material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines. * Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project and Outlook. * Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.) * Understanding of mechanical, electrical diagrams and controls logic. * Strong verbal and written communication to develop technical documentation, perform documentation review, dive deep into system layouts and solutions. * Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field. * Operations Management/Distribution Center experience. * Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics and/or fulfillment/distribution centers. * Direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or technical projects. * Proven technical leadership for engineering projects or programs. * Demonstrated design and/or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions, such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines. * Proven technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects or programs.
