Heartland School Solutions, the leading provider of innovative child nutrition management and secure online payment solutions to public and private schools in the United States, has an immediate opening for a DevOps Engineer.

The position requires the ability to consistently develop and deliver projects on established timelines and quality expectations. Responsibilities include:

• Develop, build, administer, and execute automated deployments through the use of CI/CD configuration management technologies for on-premises, cloud and hybrid.

• Develop, build, administer Infrastructure as Code for building and augmenting application environments in the cloud and in on-prem data centers.

• Review the current architectural landscape and make appropriate recommendations to development and infrastructure teams for new/existing technologies to improve efficiency and reliability

• Provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact, cost benefit analysis, and time estimates for project plans

• Facilitate orderly execution of project plan working across teams/departments

• Document and demonstrate solutions using flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts

• Perform root cause analysis of incidents and apply lessons learned to further improve processes

• Perform routine tasks, automating as much as possible, for performance monitoring, logging, vulnerability remediation and the fulfillment of infrastructure services requests

• Support containerization efforts using Docker and Kubernetes to support microservices, scale applications, and boost resilience.

• Staying abreast of emerging technologies, trends, modern development tools/techniques, security best practices, participating in educational opportunities, and attending conferences

• Follow established Agile development methodologies

• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation for maintenance support functions, deployments, production related issues and monthly DR exercises

• Review functional, connectivity and nonfunctional requirements of solutions and provide design guidance to ensure security controls and compliance requirements are met including addressing standards such as PCI-DSS

• Assist in preparing and presenting solution architectural design documents to meet Enterprise Architecture policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with the following, or similar, tools/technologies in an enterprise environment: Azure, GCP, Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, SQL Server, UML, and Git repository tools.

• 3+ years of DevOps experience in SaaS Cloud or Hybrid Cloud Environments that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability

• Strong written and oral communication skill

• Comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently, and possess a sense of accountability and urgency in completing assignments

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $81,100 - $100,000 + Bonus. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
