Our client, a global post-production company based in London, has a tremendous opportunity for a Dev Ops Engineer to join their rapidly expanding technology team in the Los Angeles area. In this critical role, youll lead development operations across all software development environments, and collaborate with the business leaders to grow the dev ops team.

In this role, youll support global software infrastructure in a 24/7 support model from development to go-live. Specific areas of responsibilities include:

  • Engage with senior leaders to plan and implement various IT infrastructure projects
  • Administer private cloud and dedicated hosting environments: AWS, Azure, Rackspace
  • Administer local environments (dev and stage) hardware, OS, networking, storage, cabling, backups
  • Act as a conduit between the software infrastructure teams
  • Support mass-emailing systems: mailgun, AWS SES
  • Maintain monitoring toolsets Zabbix and AWS Cloudwatch
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Aid in identifying issues with code that will cause issues in applications, infrastructure, or compromise security
  • Support virtualization platforms: Docker, VMWare, AWS, Azure, HyperV
  • Engage with software team to develop specialized application monitoring solution for software development environments
  • Strategic planning: backup planning, DR solution design, patching planning

Requirements

  • Experience in a comparable dev ops role, post-production experience a plus
  • Education in CS or IT, or comparable professional experience
  • Leadership skills, mentoring and developing colleagues
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Some combination of the following technical skills and desire to continually learn:

  • Wintel stack: windows server 2012 R2, windows 10, office 365
  • Linux stack: cent OS, Ubuntu, Open BSD
  • Network Administration: OS firewalls (Windows/Linux), Hardware firewalls, switches, F5 load balancers, VIPs, failover cluster IPs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VPN
  • Storage administration: SAN, LUNs, RAID. file clusters, SFTP servers
  • Threat scanning and IDS hardware: AlertLogic, Cisco Firepower (NGFW)
  • Security refinement: protocol and Cipher Suite hardening, firewall remediation, code review
  • In-depth understanding of X.509 PKI and hardware security modules (HSM)
  • App/webserver toolsets: IIS, rabbitMQ, Nginx, web application firewalls (WAF)
  • Database servers, postgresSQL 9.6, MS SQL server 2016, MongoDB 3.6
  • Support dev ops toolsets: Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, Salt, bitbucket
  • Programming languages: C#, .NET/.NET Core, Python, MVC
  • Automation and scripting skills such as Powershell and Bash
