Do you have a desire to automate everything? Nothing should be done manually, right? Axos Bank is looking for a DevOps Engineer to play a key role in creating and automating the foundation to enable our affiliate, Axos Clearing, to move to the cloud. This individual will be leaned on for establishing and implementing best practices, procedures/processes, and helping build an architectural framework for a cloud migration.
Forge a path in automating our infrastructure using infrastructure as a code (IAC) and configuration management principles on our journey to the cloud
Plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications
Design and implement appropriate environments for those applications
Continuously improve our infrastructure to be easy to provision, deploy, scale, secure and be fault-tolerant
Influence other teams and broader engineering groups in adopting DevOps best practices
Maintain and transform traditional infrastructure deployment model to an infrastructure as code model with automation and monitoring
Design and develop automation workflows for the delivery of environments to the public cloud
Troubleshoot problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our customers
Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation to continuously improve the production environment
Identify reoccurring issues and work with IT & business partners to remediate using the problem management process
Implement, maintain and deploy new code and configuration changes which are all version controlled across all CI/CD infrastructure components
Develop a process to make DevOps as part of the engineering development, service deployment and operations lifecycle
Passionate about automation and infrastructure as code principles
Ability to determine when and how to escalate issues to senior management
Ability to work with a variety of teams and be passionate about building cutting edge solutions to solve problems with the right technologies
Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, data, and applications) to deliver end-to-end cloud infrastructure architectures and designs
A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
Work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure
Ability to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, and work to improve the customer experience
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
1+ year's of hands-on Windows operating systems engineering and troubleshooting
Experience automating infrastructure in a cloud environment, including the use of Git to automate workflow of code from development to production
Strong background in Windows, IIS Administration, .Net Core
Experience with automation/configuration management using Chef, Ansible, SCCM, LanDesk, Docker, Terraform, Packer, etc.
Ability to use a wide variety of technologies, including: open source technologies, cloud services (AWS, Azure), IIS, Apache, Tomcat, F5, Azure Devops, CI/CD, APM
A working understanding of code and script (Powershell, .Net, Python, Ruby, AngularJs, NodeJs, and/or Go)
