First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer. This position is a hands-on technical role and plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality products to the healthcare industry. This is a cross-functional role on our Infrastructure team, interfacing with our architecture, security, cloud, and DevOps teams. The goal of the infrastructure team is to build infrastructure and applications in the cloud and provide a solid DevOps framework for both the development and infrastructure teams. These teams consist of engineers that love to solve problems with simple and elegant designs experimenting with and using the latest technologies. Most importantly, although members work as part of a team, they are also given the freedom to work autonomously to achieve the team's goals.
This position will be based out of the Indianapolis office.
Provide insight into and knowledge of the latest DevOps best practices, technology, solutions and industry trends
Work closely with team members to understand the IT business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions in compliance with architectural blueprints and business strategies
Use DevOps methodologies to automate existing processes and design new cloud-based infrastructure based on an infrastructure as code mindset
Document and communicate all aspects of automated processes
Provide infrastructure architecture advice, planning guidance, and quality assurance guidance development and infrastructure teams
Provide insight into and knowledge of the latest cloud architectures, technology, solutions and industry trends
Implement and evaluate cloud-based security using best practices
Bachelor's degree preferred
Three to five years DevOps automation experience
Five years overall IT experience
Cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of networking concepts TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, RDP, VPN, subnetting
Docker, Git, Vagrant
Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef
Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell
Linux/Unix, Windows O/S
Monitoring (Sensu, Nagios, etc)
Other items include Job Scheduling software, Confluence/Admin
Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
Great troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Desire and ability to quickly learn new skills
Mentoring and negotiating skills
Highly flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities
Proficient in documenting existing/new processes
Cloud-based certifications are a bonus
