General Purpose of the Role

The Device Interoperability SME will be part of the Nokia Device Onboarding team supporting a US Carrier and its device manufacturers. The Device Onboarding Program for the carrier utilizes Nokia's IMPACT Device Management Platform to validate device behavior based upon various customer requirements and test plans. This position will provide guidance and subject matter expertise related to the LWM2M and OMADM protocols. Candidate will be asked to participate in regular customer meetings, on-site visits to customer or OEMs, collect and regularly present program operational statistics, participate in device debugging sessions, provide inputs to requirement updates, and provide inputs for increased operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert feedback to OEMs and service providers

  • Training internal personnel, providing feedback to improve performance

  • Maintains customer-facing program documentation

  • Generating program statistical reports delivered to internal team and external customers

  • Managing training delivered to OEMs, Service Providers and 3rd Party labs

  • Maintain the efficiency of testing process, collect feedback and implement appropriate changes

  • Communicate status updates and information to the project team and customers

  • Create and deliver internal and external meetings presentations

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Motive Products and applicable industry standards to both internal and external teams

  • Make contributions to customer technical requirements

  • Provide technical support to pre-sales teams in support of potential customer opportunities

  • Keep up to date on current and new specifications published by OMA Forum

Location: Candidate should be located in: Murray Hill, NJ; Austin or Dallas, TX.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
(Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

  • Minimum 10 combined years of supporting device interoperability test of mobile and IoT devices

  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate things easily, should be able to lead a technical discussion with customer

  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with device standards & protocols such as LWM2M and OMA/DM

  • Experience with CDMA/EVDO/LTE/5G devices

  • Familiarity with QXDM tool, Java, UNIX/Linux, SQL/Oracle, XML, Webservices, HTTP(S), DTLS, TCP/IP, and Wireshark

  • Exposure to Atlassian JIRA and Confluence is preferred

The primary responsibilities of this position are to work directly with NI customers, sales personnel, project leaders, engineering teams, alliance partners, contract manufacturers, and executive management to define, document, design, deploy and sustain NI systems and products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large scale turnkey engineering solutions worldwide. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding NI products and system-level design. This position is located in the National Instruments HQ in Austin, TX.
