Summary

The Device Architect will focus on helping grow the business by supporting the sales/marketing team on conveying Baxter's technology offering and product road map to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the strategic sales cycle

  • Works with IS Sales, IHS directors other key stakeholders to convey Baxter's pump technology and ancillary products (DeviceVue, Dashboards, EMR integration, alarms routing, Next Generation Platform etc.)

  • Creates a business solution consisting of services and software that uniquely addresses the customer's needs and shares product roadmap with existing and potential customers

  • Performs sales demos; provides quotes; contracting and manages implementation of technology projects

  • Cultivates relationships with management of new and prospective accounts building credibility and trust

  • Growth of pipeline for technology opportunities

  • Identifies potential business opportunities for Baxter Infusion Systems technologies across the US

  • Engages existing and potential customers on ancillary software sales and implementation

  • Customer Satisfaction

  • Responsiveness to customer issues and management of escalations and critical deliverables

  • Minimizes customer attrition through high quality customer support/relationships/products

  • Market Awareness

  • Knowledge of competitive and relevant market data

  • Achievement of Annual sales order intake quotas / targets

  • Manages the US Spectrum pump number

  • Understanding of current overall trends in the business sector

  • Understanding of customers specific business goals, strategy, financials and challenges

  • Maintaining high quality Account Plans

  • Timely and accurate development and maintenance of opportunity plans

  • Upkeep of relevant information on salesforce.com

  • Prepares and submits sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed opportunity, including prospects for the region

  • Must be able to provide clear, organized and concise presentations to Sr Management (Sales and Business Unit) on any and all sales or marketing activities within the assigned Partner's user base

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences business required

  • 3 years sales experience in related industry preferred

  • 2 years experience in national accounts negotiating and managing buying group organizations

  • Strong contract/bid review and drafting skills required

  • Strong financial analysis skills desired

  • Experience managing people in a sales environment desired

Preferred location to live: Atlanta or Nashville The Enterprise Region Manager for Georgia/Tennessee will have responsibility for managing Portfolio Territory Managers, Pharmacy Specialists, Nutrition Specialists and have responsibility for the tactical/operational daily activities of the sales team in leading the team to exceed the Medical Products Portfolio Sales Budget. Additional responsibilities will include: * Drive the implementation of team strategies to ensure the attainment of regionally focused objectives * Plan, direct, and control the sales and business activities for region through the translation of strategic plans into sales strategies to attain sales volume, product mix and profit objectives * Prepare annual regional forecasts and participate in the determination of market potential and in preparation of sales expense estimates for the region * Plan and manage the sales efforts of the region * Contact major accounts to ensure customer satisfaction within assigned region * Direct staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program * Confer with immediate superior and marketing personnel in the development of marketing policy, recommending product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes * Partner with sales support, marketing and R&D in activities such as sales promotion, training or market research in planning and executing special projects * Promote the Baxter Culture through positive ongoing customer relations * Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line * Partner with other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications Qualifications: * Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as negotiation and presentation skills * Position requires ability to analyze and interpret data for effective sales strategies and good organization/time management skills * Ability to understand and adapt to customer needs is essential * Candidate must demonstrate business acumen and knowledge of sales processes as well as strong leadership and decision-making abilities * Travel is required and may involve visits to remote or urban areas either individually or with other personnel * Bachelor's degree required with 7 or more years of healthcare sales experience Equal Employment Opportunity Baxter is an equal opportunity employer.
