The Developmental Support Specialist Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Creating and researching policies and procedures needed for both Developmental Services and Burrell Working Solutions

  • Having exceptional follow-through on projects or tasks assigned

  • Being a team player by offering suggestions and new ideas to programs and procedures

  • Meeting deadlines for billing and for services provided

  • Making sure quality assurance checks are in place for programs and procedures

  • Providing tracking sheets for trainings and signing time sheets

  • Potentially providing direct support care to cover for a consumer

  • Organizing and providing administrative support to supervised staff

  • Developing, planning, and locating trainings for supervised staff

  • Applying and following Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Burrell policies/procedures to new programs and services that are developed by Developmental Services

  • Providing education regarding Burrell Developmental Services

  • Working on grant development, attending transition fairs, and other activities as requested


  • Experience in a supervisory role

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Organization skills are a must


Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but relevant experience may take the place of a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience in the Human Services field is preferred but not required.

Must have a valid driver's license and favorable driving record.

Responsibilities and Qualifications OverviewThe Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST III will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST III is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies as required. The LST III will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. The LST III is responsible for limited laboratory testing and for assisting technologists in all appropriate test methods as required. ResponsibilitiesFinancial PerformanceRemains a steward of resources in regards to inventory, time management, and meeting productivity standardsOperational Effectiveness•Demonstrates effective computer skills for both electronic communication and data management. •Creates and uses work aid documents as needed.•Organizes, prioritizes and completes work to meet defined turnaround time and expectations.•Assesses issues that arise and communicates to appropriate stakeholders for resolution as required.•Participates in effective inventory control as needed. •Participates in all levels of client services, as required, including registration and order entry.•Performs, in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards, effective and timely acquisition, labeling, transfer, and referral of all appropriate laboratory specimens as required. •Demonstrates responsibility for timely, effective and accurate processing and reporting of post-analytical laboratory results as required. •Participates in training and education of others as requested.•Attends department, laboratory and Mercy system meetings as required.•Utilizes safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.•Assists with processing of specimens and reports in laboratory areas as required.•Utilizes timely and effective communication skills in line with the Mercy Service Standards to address the needs of all customer groups in support of patient service excellence•Resolves billing issues as required.•Performs and assists with limited routine laboratory testing as required.•Prepares and maintains reagents and solutions as required.•Assists technologists in all appropriate test methods as required.•Performs other duties as required.Workplace Excellence•Complies with departmental operational policy's to meet staffing plan and department needs.•Communicates professionally and effectively.
