Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by JCAHO, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.
This position assists and supports DS II and DS III in the provision of services to families of children age 0-3 in the YK Delta. Some village travel is required.
This position helps in the administrations of eligibility testing within 45 days of referral, assists with developmental assessments. This position organizes family contact, family follow for relevant services. This position is a member of the ILP team and supports Napartet with value added ideas, patient centered excellence, and ILP standards of excellence.
This position facilitates play group. This position is designed to allow individuals to enter the field with the understanding that the candidate agrees to continue their education. Failure to complete the required degree in three years will result in the individual no longer being eligible to continue employment in ILP.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma/AA degree preferred in early childhood, related field, or Child Developmental Associate (CDA) or PAT training. Candidate will be required to obtain an AA in Early Childhood or a closely related field to be eligible for continued employment after three years from DOH.
Minimum Experience: Early childhood experience.
Knowledge and willingness to learn and apply working knowledge of early childhood development. Home visiting experience preferred. Experience with Special Needs children preferred..
Licensing/Certification: Early childhood experience.
Knowledge and willingness to learn and apply working knowledge of early childhood development. Home visiting experience preferred. Experience with Special Needs children preferred. Eligible to be certified as SEED 7-8
Equipment/Tools: Computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Power point, faxing, scanning, e-mailing. Requires travel to villages via small plane under sub-artic conditions.
