The Position

Marijuana Program Inspectors are responsible for monitoring Statewide, privately owned marijuana facilities including cultivation facilities, facilities for the production of edible marijuana or marijuana-infused products, independent testing laboratories, distributors and marijuana dispensaries to ensure compliance with State laws and regulations and for public health protection.

This position performs specialized duties for the Marijuana Enforcement Division. The incumbent will conduct inspections of marijuana establishments for compliance with the rules and regulations of the Marijuana Program, identify violations, conduct investigations as needed, document results and prepare reports of findings.

Examples of areas for inspection include security, adherence to restrictions regarding controlled access to restricted areas, storage of marijuana products, transportation, chain of custody of marijuana and disposal of marijuana. The incumbent will review facility policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, and patient records to determine whether production services are being provided in accordance with applicable standards and physicians' orders. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the biological or life sciences, botany, medical sciences, public health, health care, criminal justice or closely related field and three years of experience performing professional environmental health duties which included interpreting public health laws and conducting public health related inspections and/or investigations; OR two years of experience as a Marijuana Program Inspector I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Education above the Bachelor's level does not substitute for the required experience.

Special Requirements Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment must submit to a pre-employment screening test for controlled substances. Persons offered employment in this series must submit to a criminal background investigation.

Exposure to the odor and/or the handling of marijuana, marijuana infused products, and products used to cultivate marijuana are a component of this position. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

VIEW JOBS 1/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-15T00:00 The Position Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The position supports Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) and will initially be assigned to Rawson Neal Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada. The mission of the agency is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Dynamic work responsibilities include assessing and identifying patient health care needs; making comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations; prepare nursing care plans; administering medications as prescribed by a physician or designee; and monitoring patients for medication side effects and/or allergic reaction. The position will also provide crisis intervention; help develop safety plan recommendations for patients; actively participate in a multidisciplinary team managing a wide variety of patients and diagnoses; and ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a full-time position that may include weekend and holiday shifts. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week. This position requires completion of respirator fit testing and completion of Certification in Conflict Prevention and Response Training. Incumbent must keep license, CPR certification, and Nevada Driver's License current. SNAMHS provides continual on-going training and education to our staff, including paid release time for attending approved trainings and the availability of on-site CEUs.
