DDS is announcing the availability of a full-time Developmental Services Worker II (DSW II) position located in Duxbury, MA for the Southeast Residential Services. The Developmental Service Worker II provides direct care and programmatic services to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities who live in a residential home setting.
The person selected for this position assists in the implementation of habilitative, behavioral and recreational programs; performs crisis intervention; is assigned program related cooking and housekeeping duties. The DSW II is responsible to maintain and protect the confidential records of the individuals in the Departments care.
The following duties are an example of the responsibilities that will be assigned to the DSW II for the individuals in their care. The DSW II will attend review meetings; dispense medications to in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, transports, and accompanies individuals to their various appointments as well as drive individuals to work, and recreational outings; provide leisure activities to individuals; assist individuals in meeting his/her personal care and nutritional needs; assists and supports individuals in making choices in his/her life; and maintain individuals rights by complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Additionally, this position, monitors Developmental Service Worker I's (DSW I's) to ensure that they are acting as advocates and demonstrating respect and positive regard for the individuals they are providing services for. This position must also ensure that policies, procedures, and services are provided throughout their tour of duty.

A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. Full-Time 40 hour weekly position on 2nd Shift (Evening)
Working: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Days off: Friday and Saturday
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Service's Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
"This position is in a program that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need."

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have (A) at least one (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience in providing direct support services to persons with developmental/ intellectual, emotional or physical disabilities, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Incumbents are required to possess a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.
