Test Engineer
The Development Test Engineer develops, instruments and conducts testing of energetic materials & safety devices to support the launch of new & existing formulations into new and existing safety devices.
What you'll do:
Provide technical direction to analytical, performance, safety and hazards classification testing.
Develop and support testing methods, procedures, and equipment. Maintain & trouble shoot testing equipment.
Support collection, analysis and reporting of test data including efforts to digitalize legacy data.
Develop an understanding of internal and external test standards including Analytical Chemistry, Hazards Classification & Characterization, and Automotive Industry Validation. • Collaborate with relevant testing support to maintain alignment to testing standards within Autoliv. Launch & support new testing capabilities into global and local testing environments.
What is required:
BS, MS in related STEM field. Preference given to chemistry, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
0-5 yrs experience developing energetic materials testing in research, development, and industrialize environments.
Hands on and practical exposure to energetic materials testing in a lab and outdoor environment.
An understanding of energetic materials testing and characterization.
A working knowledge of standard safety practices used when handling & testing energetic materials and the willingness to use these practices on a daily basis is essential.
Proficiency with sensors, gages and high-speed data acquisition, and analytical equipment & methods.
Electro/Mechanical aptitude/hands-on approach to solutions. • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint.
