THE ROLE
Title: Development Services Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Position Description: The Development Services Manager role at Make-Wish Illinois manages the development support areas for efficiency and effective operation. These areas include research, prospect management, gift processing, stewardship, reporting, and maintaining or developing operational practices & procedures for use by development team. In addition, this role manages the revenue tracking, budgeting, and forecasting for the development team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Revenue & Expense Reporting
- Manages revenue budgeting and forecasting processes for development and reports on ongoing revenue progress against budget
- Performs complex donor analytics; develops custom reports, and designs procedures for utilization of information
- Administers the development team’s expense budgets
- Database Management
- Serves as the subject matter expert on the customer relationship management (CRM) system of Salesforce
- Performs routine pulls & queries; establishes criteria for complex list pulls used in analytical and solicitation processes
- Works closely with the Data Steward on solutions to facilitate development’s work
- Management and Administration
- Manages the development services staff and interns including (2) full-time team members, a Sr. Development Services Coordinator & Donor Relations Coordinator.
- Supervises gift processing efforts to ensure quality and integrity standards of excellence are met related to gift data and donor information
- Identifies, plans, executes, and documents projects for development team
- Oversees the development team’s administrative processes for signature events
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in donor database management, development services, data & evaluation roles, or a related role
- Strong knowledge & demonstrated experience w/ Salesforce or comparable donor database
- Highly skilled with all components of Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel
- Proven track record of strong analytical, problem solving, and prospect research skills
- Demonstrated strength in written, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with solid ability to build relationships
- Well organized with excellent attention to detail

Benefits
Hiring Range: $65,000 - $70,000
Work Schedule and Location: Hybrid Schedule –Tuesday and Thursday in-person at the corporate office (200 W. Monroe, Suite 1801, Chicago, IL 60606) and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are remote. Business needs may dictate occasional need to adjust the hybrid schedule and team member is expected to be able to accommodate the organization’s physical presence needs as part of their hybrid work agreement.
