Within HDR's Resources Business Group (RBG), the Development Market Sector focuses on large scale land development opportunities with private developer clients. This sector's growth opportunities are driven by urban infill, transit-oriented communities, industrial mixed-use, smart city initiatives, infrastructure resiliency and community placemaking. Development projects and pursuits often require cross-business group collaboration and innovative project approaches. We leverage multidisciplinary skills to help solve complex land development and infrastructure challenges in our ever-changing world.
The Development Sector Marketing Lead (SMU) reports to the sector director and coordinates with the marketing development manager as it relates to marketing processes and work level balancing. A successful SMU provides marketing leadership that supports the goals and objectives of the respective sector and aligns to overall business group strategies and vision. And is responsible for facilitating strategy discussions, driving communication, creative direction and executing on key initiatives and priorities in partnership with the business group marketing and communication teams to competitively position HDR in the market.
Serves as core team member in managing the sector strategic planning process. Helps drive the development and implementation of the key marketing and communication strategies and initiatives to support overall program growth. Works with communications group to publish strategic visioning documents and content for the sector SharePoint sites.
Actively manages sector-led proposal and presentation process from start to finish consistently applying marketing best practices, including design, writing, editing, layout and production and engaging appropriate marketing resources to support these pursuits.
Facilitates strategy sessions within the sector in coordination with CDLs and marketing leadership (for pursuits, planning and initiatives) to help drive innovation, best practices, and new opportunities for sector growth.
Actively facilitates and participates in a programmatic approach to the sector service lines, goals and initiatives. Serves as a champion for these sector elements as well as helps build a program and marketing campaign tailored to our current and future client and program opportunities at a sector level.
Represents HDR and the sector externally to clients and teaming partners in support of the strategic business development initiatives, as needed.
Works with Client Development Leaders (CDLs) and Client Managers (CMs) to drive client development planning for select Tier 1 and 2 plans as approved by the sector director.
Actively partners with CDLs on capture planning and client development plan meetings and activities.
Actively participates in designated sector meetings and strategy sessions to ensure understanding of the sector's objectives, strategy and vision. This includes partnership with the RBG communications team in the execution of action items identified during strategy sessions related to campaigns and initiatives.
Mentors/coaches department coordinators and staff relative to improving marketing processes, available tools and best practices.
Provide support in reviewing proposal documents during team reviews to ensure application of brand, sector strategy, and marketing best practices.
Partners with RBG communications team to develop and promote sector communication and messaging of key wins, key hires, accomplishments and other important events and deliverables.
Partners with RBG communications team on Tier 1 & 2 conference planning and other client/industry brand and service awareness materials.
Partner with the RBG communications team to prepare company-wide sector qualifications and marketing collateral materials in compliance with company writing
