Vinfen is seeking an experienced Development Officer to create and execute fundraising strategies by engaging individual donors, cultivating corporate sponsors, seeking foundational grant opportunities, managing planned giving soliciting in-kind donations and leading work place giving to achieve fundraising goals. The Development Officer will manage a relational database, process and acknowledge gifts and report on development initiatives while working collaboratively with to create and implement development initiatives in support of the fundraising efforts of both Vinfen as a whole as well departments and programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential job duties/responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the information listed below:

  • Creates and executes fundraising strategies including donor engagement and solicitation, corporate sponsorship, foundation grants, major gifts, individual giving, planned giving, in-kind donations, and workplace giving.

  • Researches and identifies prospective individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations. Solicits donations and achieves fundraising goals.

  • Manages relationships with existing individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation funders to retain and grow contributions.

  • Manages relational database including constituents, supporters, donors, public officials, and media.

  • Creates monthly reports that demonstrate progress toward Development goals and objectives.

  • Conducts monthly reconciliation with the Finance Department.

  • In cooperation with internal stakeholders, leads workplace giving initiatives including Internal Disaster Relief Fund and Holiday Giving Fund.

  • Works with staff to create and implement fundraising plans for Vinfen departments and programs seeking assistance with their special events and development efforts.

  • Interfaces with program staff to discover programmatic efforts that have potential for grant funding.

  • Administers internal micro grants for initiatives developed by staff to benefit people in our services.

  • Assists with planning and fundraising for special events including professional conferences, Moving Images Film Festival, Celebrations of Family Partnerships, and program events.

  • Leads friend-to-friend fundraising efforts for such events as the Ragnar Cape Cod Run-4-Life.

  • Identifies, researches, prepares, and submits grant letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports for funding for projects.

  • Supports the expansion of endowment and legacy giving.

  • Supports marketing efforts as related to philanthropy.

  • Performs other related duties, as required.

  • Cultivates, solicits, and supports every level of giving, from small to large.

  • Writes and edits internal and external fundraising publications and electronic communications, including marketing emails, newsletter articles, website articles and blogs, and annual reports.

  • Develops, creates, writes, and produces multimedia appeal campaign to support the Holiday Giving Fund and other similar appeals

  • Tracks donations, keeps donor records, processes gifts, and sends acknowledgements.

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in development in the nonprofit, human services or healthcare or similar field.

  • Proven experience as a fundraiser with campaign, major gifts and annual fundraising experience.

  • Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
