The Development Officer is responsible for the creation and execution of an annual plan of action designed to capture philanthropic support from alumni and non-alumni individuals, corporations, foundations, etc. to meet the needs of the College of Engineering & School of Architecture. The Development Officer is responsible for achieving a yearly cash goal and will report to the Senior Director of Development. The Development Associate will also work closely with the deans, faculty, directors, and other administrators in the College of Engineering and the School of Architecture.
Essential Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum three years of relevant work experience. Four years of fundraising or related experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered.
Must be knowledgeable about fundraising.
Candidate must have an excellent command of the English language; excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Candidate must be organized, creative, energetic, and assertive.
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Exceptional work ethic and commitment are essential.
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge a plus.
Ability to work some weekends and evenings as needed.
Excel, Microsoft Word essential.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
