TITLE: DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
LOCATION: PORTLAND, OREGON

OK You is a nonprofit that provides youth and youth supporters with free creative resources for navigating big emotions and staying connected to their OK selves.
THE POSITION
OK You is seeking a part-time (25 hours/week) Development Manager to help the organization achieve its community vision, diversify its funding base, and raise $300,000 annually from Foundation, Corporate, and Individual supporters. This is an opportunity to be a change-maker in an innovative, entrepreneurial organization. The Development Manager will achieve success by continually nurturing current and prospective donors. Through regular contact and the cultivation of authentic personal relationships via regular prospect/investor outreach and grant writing, the Development Manager will help each investor find alignment and connection to OK You's mission. This person is responsible for co-creating and successfully executing an annual resource procurement strategy alongside the Executive Director, helping to generate the human, social, and financial resources necessary to fulfill OK You's mission and goals.
The ideal candidate is a warm and charismatic spokesperson who is able to increase awareness of OK You in the community, particularly among those most interested in and likely to benefit from engagement. In addition to recruiting new investors and leading our event and grant writing efforts, the Development Manager will serve as a support to Board and staff, facilitating efforts that help all OK You stakeholders become more skillful, responsible, and informed philanthropists. The Development Manager will meet with investors and prospects in environments most conducive to their needs. This role reports to the Executive Director, and works closely with the OK You Board with regards to resource development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Collaborative Leadership:
Possess a passion for OK You's mission, vision, values and work
Develop and drive a resource procurement strategy focused on building the human, financial, and social capital necessary to successfully execute OK You's fund development plan
Bring best practices to OK You in terms of fundraising and partnership development, promoting a culture of organizational accountability and passionate engagement
Help educate, mentor and support the Board, staff, and partners/donors on building a culture of philanthropy and understanding forces affecting the evolving cultural and philanthropic landscape
A Knack for Partner Attraction and Development:
Reach out and/or meet regularly with individual and institutional investors and prospective new partners/donors to explore their interests and identify opportunities for contribution, engagement and connection to OK You's mission
Guide a continuous effort to increase partner/donor engagement and satisfaction
Help each partner/donor become a more conscious, thoughtful steward and philanthropist; and develop and continually maintain an updated donor prospect pipeline through networking, marketing, individual donor/OK You influencers' recommendations, and personal circles of influence
Resource Development and External Relations:
Effectively communicate OK You's value proposition through proposals and presentations
Collaborate with Executive Director on marketing and events strategies, messages, collateral, implementation and Return on Investment evaluation; and
Serve as primary staff lead to Development and Advisory committees and participate in other committees as appropriate
Functional and Systems Management:
Utilize data and systems (primarily Bloomerang CRM, GrantStation, Instrumentl, and Givebutter) to drive and track results
Work in partnership with staff members who have a functional responsibility for financial matters, partnership management, grants management, marketing, events, campaign management, data and administrative support
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a role with similar focus and demands (such as Development Manager, Grants Manager, Major Gifts Officer, Business Development/Sales Executive). In a ideal world, the candidate would:
Have a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding financial, production and/or outreach targets.
Have proven experience in developing funding proposals and cultivating community partnerships; a track record of relationship building.
Be familiar with the local philanthropic landscape.
Have a proven ability to inspire, influence, and guide others towards achieving meaningful results.
Have exceptional communication, both oral and written, and a great sense of humor.
Have a basic understanding of the distinct nature of local philanthropic organizations
(as demonstrated through staff, board, or committee service).
Have the ability to travel to local off-site meeting spaces as needed.
Be savvy at producing special events/fundraisers.
Have experience with multi-year campaign fundraising (highly desirable but not required).
COMPENSATION
The is a part-time, exempt position, 25 hour per week position with a competitive $35 hourly wage ($45,500/annually).
In addition, 60 hours of annual Paid Time Off (PTO) is provided on a prorated, annual basis to all employees at the date of hire. In addition to PTO, all part-time employees are paid 4 hours of Holiday pay per each of 10 Holidays throughout the calendar year.
