Job Summary

Apple is looking for a highly motivated Development Engineer to join the Softgoods Product Design group. You will be part of a cross-functional design team responsible for conceiving, designing and producing exciting new products

Key Qualifications

  • Experience with a wide variety of hand tools and machine tools

Working knowledge of soft goods materials (synthetics, leather, adhesives)Working knowledge of soft goods assembly process (cut & stitch and cut stick)2D CAD skills sufficient to operate laser cutter and table plotter

Experience making high quality looks like and works like prototypes

Organized self starter Preferred Experience:3D CAD (NX, Soldiworks or ProE/Creo is preferred)molding of textiles composite part fabricationunderstanding of how a high volume mass production environment differs from a prototyping lab

Description

Your work will be focused in our soft goods development lab where you will work closely with the ID and PD teams to build product concept and development models. Attention to details and an inventive approach to problem solving will be critical for success in this role.

Education

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent field required
