Duties:

Automation engineer supporting collaborative development and qualification of measurement instrumentation used in manufacturing of Intraocular Lenses (IOLs).

  • Utilize Agile development fundamentals to deliver solutions in fast paced environment

  • Support project team in operational testing and troubleshooting of complex machinery

  • Development and demonstration of measurement methods using engineering and statistical calculations, statistical process monitoring

  • Development of documentation and procedures for verification and validation of new & existing equipment in GxP environments

  • Work in hands-on environment, assemble and test fixtures in laboratory and clean environment conditions

  • Travel to manufacturing site location to oversee installation and troubleshooting of equipment

Requirements:

Skills:

  • Experienced operating and troubleshooting automation equipment (automated motion systems, machine vision systems)

  • Proactive learner & problem solver

  • Effectively communicates, good technical writing and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics disciplines

  • 3 years of experience in design or field engineering; preferred experience in machine vision, computerized motion systems, robotics

  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, or software design of automation equipment a plus

  • Experience in design and analysis of optical imaging & machine vision systems a plus

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Description:This position is with the Engineering & Technology Air Vehicle Systems directorate, reporting to the senior manager of the Air Vehicle Development team. The selected candidate will be the Competency Assurance lead for the Wiring Systems Development area, in support of the Aero Lines of Business (LOBs). This position will provide technical support and leadership for wiring development tools such as: * LAWS (Lockheed Automated Wiring System) * EHDS (Electrical Harness Data System) * AFOST (Automated Fiber Optic Signature Tool) * JEDI (Joint Electrical Design and Installation) The selected candidate will support program migration to Enterprise Wiring Systems processes and tools (e.g., CAPITAL) by providing input on process and tool setup for deployments, supporting development of libraries associated with the tool, supporting workforce training on the tool, and serving as the tool administrator. This position will also encompass continuous improvement, technical support of training development and deployment, and process development/maintenance for wiring development, with a focus on logical harness architectures. The Wiring Systems Competency Assurance lead will perform the following tasks: * Maintaining constant communication with the Aero LOBs to understand technical issues as well as staffing, training, and engineering tool needs * Coordinating cross-domain, cross-LOB integration support needs and/or personally supporting critical LOB tasks, as needed * Being familiar with the Wiring Development workforce across Aero, and understanding the related data in the SkillFinder tool * Developing the capabilities of the Wiring Development workforce, including management of training curricula/course development, and provision of training * Developing and managing Wiring Development-related Information Technology development projects * Developing and maintaining Aero Command Media related to Wiring Development * Supporting LOB design reviews across Aero and other LM Business Areas as needed Must be a US citizen. This position will require special access and a Secret clearance after starting. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline * Experience with the Wiring System Development process: * Signal definition * Assignment of signals to harnesses * Physical harness routing * Creation of location diagrams for harness components * Experience with the use of System Schematics and Tabular Data to define wire harness requirements and routing * Experience with methodologies for pathway development for copper and fiber optic routing * Experience with methodologies for harness routing and bundling * Experience with at least one of the wiring development tools (ex, LAWS, EHDS, AFOST, JEDI) Desired Skills: * Comfort and experience in reaching out and communicating with multiple LOBs and functions * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely * CATIA experience * Must be a self-starter that can identify own tasking and tempo, with a desire to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It * Experience across multiple LM Aero LOBs, or multiple Aero sites * Experience in improving wiring harness development efficiency, technical integrity, and affordability * Experience in identifying or developing training, tools, and processes for harness design * Must be willing to mentor junior-level team members BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
