Job Description: & Qualifications


  • Lead development, testing, and deployment of new functionality within the Ford Engineering Design Environment (FEDE) systems engineering tool set

  • Work closely with Product Development teams to understand systems engineering processes and legacy tool sets, and how to translate into new FEDE tool functionality

  • Work closely with the FEDE IT matched pair development teams to specify and implement FEDE functionality

  • Support FEDE training and deployment to Product Development functional teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or related degree
  • 1+ year of experience in engineering within the automotive industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering or related degree

  • 2+ years of engineering design and release experience working with functional or attribute teams within the automotive industry

  • Experience with system engineering principles, processes, and artifacts

  • Experience with the Teamcenter tool set or other PLM systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work within cross-functional teams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools

Job Title: Research Engineer – Digital Cockpit Feature and Technology Development Location: Dearborn, MI What you'll be doing: The Digital Cockpit Technologies, Features and Design Engineer is responsible for researching and delivering technologies, features and experiences for future infotainment and connectivity offerings. Our particular team is focused on customer-facing applications for the digital cockpit. This position is primarily focused on researching, prototyping, defining and developing new digital cockpit features and technologies. Work tasks span from the early research and development stages of ideation driven by the Human-Centered Design and use case development, through the development of Proof-of-Concept solutions, vehicle integration and final delivery to the Product Development organization. We are looking for someone with documented experience in customer-facing application development, preferably related to infotainment and connectivity in the automotive space.
