Role Overview:
As a Development Director, you'll play a vital role in the management of the Tech and Tools team, supporting all aspects of tools and technical initiative development. Development Directors are the keepers of the project schedules and help move the Tech and Tools team from one production phase to the next while ensuring collaboration and communication. You will partner with our product owners and discipline leaders to ensure that the projects are balanced and completed on time, to quality, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain team tasks and scheduling to ensure delivery of Tech and Tools content.
Manage change requests and advise key stakeholders on their effect on project schedule, budget and resourcing
Generally following scrum methodology while being flexible based on the project and initiative
Lead sprint planning and kick off meetings
Help with onboarding, tracking, capacity planning, and prioritization of work.
General monitoring of tickets and workflow
Document, communicate, administer, and refine project processes. Identify opportunities for improvement, and work with your team to find creative solutions based on current standards in project management and the industry, and execute solutions with the team.
Reporting upwards to leadership and partners the milestone and development progress
Reporting to your team their trends and risks to help hone in on efficient development
Keep the development team and partners informed of project goals, schedule, status and deliverables.
Remotely coordinate with engineers, designers, UX/UI, artists, line producers, and project managers at partner studios in multiple locations across the globe
Help lead backlog grooming with Tech and Tools team
Managing and coordinating projects and support both within the studio/game team and across the organization
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly rituals to keep the team moving forward.
Line Management of team members including helping support professional development, manage performance, and supporting well-being.
Facilitating permissions and distribution lists as needed
Anticipate and communicate issues and roadblocks to ensure project goals and milestones can be met
Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of project management & team leadership experience and Game or Software Development
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of people from different cultures, countries, time zones, and backgrounds
Well organized and proactive
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate risk, trajectory, and progress over time
Experience working in a creative environment; games experience preferred
Experience working with engineers and tools development a plus
Familiarity with JIRA is ideal
Capable of managing your time independently and willing to attend occasional meetings with external partners outside regular work hours
Preference for optimizing and automating workflows and reporting

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
º $140,700 - $204,700 USD Annually
º $125,300 - $204,700 USD Annually
º $164,800 - $204,700 USD Annually
º $131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
º $125,300 - $198,100 USD Annually
º $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
