Marana is the fastest growing community in Southern Arizona and the 2nd largest municipality in Pima County. The Town was recently recognized as one of the ten most successful cities in Arizona. Marana lies approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Development Coordinator to work in the Development Services Department. This is a full-time position and is critical to the day to day operations. This position will process and distribute submittals/permits and tracks project information.

Starting Rate: $17.17 - $19.00

Examples of Duties

  • Coordinates the intake and distribution of submittal documents and/or permits; processes the work flow of applications and supporting materials.

  • Provides customers with project and/or permit information to include fees, process and requirements

  • Corresponds and coordinates information with applicants, Town Staff and outside agencies using various methods such as email, phone and counter interactions

  • Processes electronic submittals and approvals; Provides guidance to customers on how to utilize the electronic services.

  • Assists with scheduling meetings; Attends pre-application or pre-construction meetings.

  • Responds to public records requests and assists with records retention for the department.

  • Monitors and maintains project and permit data, electronic and paper files.

  • Generates audit reports relating to plan review, construction, inspection, and other related functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent.

  • Over one year of experience in coordinating projects within a Planning, Building, or related field.

  • ICC Permit Technician Certification or must obtain within one year of employment.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions maybe considered.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

REVIEW PROCESS

Job posting will remain open until a sufficient number of applicants have met the minimum requirements and have been scheduled for interviews. A first review date of applications will be conducted on October 2, 2020. A second reveiw date of applications will be conducted on October 14, 2020.
