The Development Coordinator is an integral member of the staff team, working closely with all chapter staff to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of fundraising and chapter operations.

This role will serve in West Michigan events supporting fundraising efforts with Peer to Peer (Breakthrough T1D Walk and Ride) and gala programs. The role manages the donor qualification process to strengthen links to potential and existing volunteers and donors and grows the Chapter's revenue through increased mid and major giving. Provides administrative support to chapter staff by assisting in ongoing office, fundraising and other chapter priority activities including assisting with event logistics. The Development Coordinator also manages and organizes event auction activities and solicitation for select events.

The position is based in the Greater Grand Rapids area and the position will work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline.

  • Serve as the lead for the Grand Rapids and East Lansing Breakthrough T1D Walk.

  • Lead for Grand Rapids Gala auction. Including but not limited to solicitation and procurement of auction items, data entry, and other tasks.

  • Assist West Michigan Breakthrough T1D Ride program with recruitment and fundraising support.

  • Responsible for volunteer committee development, team recruitment and retention strategies, budget, timeline, marketing/PR, logistics and best practice implementation.

  • In partnership with chapter staff, helps manage event logistics.

  • Strategically serves on donor development account teams, to emphasize building relationships that are unique to each constituent.

  • Oversees diverse administrative duties for the Chapter including providing administrative support for fundraising activities, which includes managing fundraising events and donor prospects, supporting solicitations, tracking and acknowledging donations, and preparing information needed for meetings.

  • Coordinates, evaluates, and expands fundraising and non-fundraising programs under the direction of the Development Director, and in collaboration with the development team and volunteer leadership.

  • Assists with all chapter operations including administrative support and management of the CRM database including CRM updates, addressing duplication, and reports.

  • Manages Walk operations in both Walk management software, Luminate Online, and CRM database. Pulls reports and serves as the first contact to troubleshoot with teams.

  • Strategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline.

  • Oversees assigned activities and helps establish strategic alliances.

  • Ensures personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests.

  • Supports other fundraising events, chapter activities, and programs as assigned.

  • Executes all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience including fundraising or relevant business/volunteer experience.

  • Knowledge of basic leadership giving strategies and donor life cycle preferred.

  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to collaborate as a team player.

  • Strong verbal and written communication. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources,

planning, and resource allocation, as well as ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Salesforce or other CRM databases

  • Proficiency in event fundraising programs such as Greater Giving, Luminate Online, One Cause, Monday.com preferred. Ability to lean and use them is required.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.

  • Ability to create and manage process that enhances efficiency of staff work while allowing for donor centricity.

  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to travel within the chapter footprint required. Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
