Position Summary

The Development Coordinator provides proactive, effective, measurable administrative support to enhance the development department fundraising activities, including cultivation and stewardship of donors. This individual will work closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Development Operations Manager, as well as the development team to execute an annual fundraising plan and communications strategy. This position requires the ability to work well within a fast-paced environment and under a collaborative team structure.

This position is responsible for cultivating, stewarding and managing the new donor, monthly donor and mid-level donor. This individual will also be responsible for management of the development teams donor engagement plan, moves management and prospect research needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.

The Development Coordinator will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.

  • Strategic planning and execution of the new donor, monthly donor and mid-level programs. This includes cultivation, stewardship and solicitation to further the mission of the organization.

  • Manages a personal portfolio of mid-level major gift donors and monthly donors. Practice relationship-based fundraising, with a focus on aligning donor giving priorities with organizational priorities.

  • Track all donor interactions in database and provide reports pulled from the database to support front line fundraising staff.

  • Draft written materials for development department, including regularly updated stewardship communication for donors (i.e., e-blasts, letters, cards).

  • Responsible for executing holiday tribute card campaign.

  • Manage regular Development Volunteers coordinating scheduling to assist with mailings, stewardship and other various projects.

  • Main point for weekly donor thank you calls with CEO. Responsible for creating call list in coordination with gift officers and tracking all call details in CRM system.

  • Manage prospect research for the development department. Conduct regular wealth screenings of donors and prospects, create donor profiles, and provide additional research support to relationship managers.

  • Manage the donor engagement program for the development department. This includes holding monthly touchpoint meetings with the development and communications/marketing teams, providing reports for the development team to ensure they are executing engagement plans, and coordinating with the marketing / communications, programs, and finance departments for all resources needed for stewardship and cultivation events.

  • Continually develop donor prospects through a variety of sources.

Position Qualifications

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval.

  • The candidate or employee should have the equivalent of a bachelors degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and two years of experience in Development, Marketing, Fundraising, or related experience preferably in the not-for-profit sector.

  • Proficiency with computer operations including Microsoft Word and Excel; Experience with Donor Databases preferred.

  • Valid Arkansas drivers license and proof of insurance required

  • Must pass a background check

  • Must pass a preemployment drug screening

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to operate vehicles.
