A Development Consultant is a member of an overall Talent development team that is responsible for providing development and consulting on development for Ernst& Young LLP (EY). Provides facilitation, change management, coaching and other organizational effectiveness (OE) skills and consulting to a geographic area of EY. Supports the Talent Development Leader in that area by taking the lead on selected service lines or subservice lines or geographies, or by teaming with the Talent Development Leader on more complex projects.
Assists in implementation of the people strategy and sets priorities accordingly. Applies knowledge of programs and processes to facilitate implementation that meets business and people needs.
Serves as a resource in the geographic area for facilitation, change management consulting, training, communications, organizational listening and other OE consulting and support.
Provides individual or team coaching and training in areas such as counselor manager development, mentoring and team effectiveness.
Provides cross-practice implementation support to people initiatives, programs and processes, including (but not limited to): Balanced Scorecard, Global People Survey, Leadership development, Leadership development programs, Diversity and inclusiveness programs.
Coordinates with other HR team members including HR generalists to understand needs and
effectively support specific businesses and people.
Surfaces learning needs, communicates and collaborates with learning consultants.
Serves as a key resource for information, programs and processes developed in the People Development and OE, centers of excellence (COEs) and participates on COE design and development teams.
Consults on and often develops communications targeted for employees.
Possesses knowledge in learning, human resources, coaching, training and organizational development. Duties are varied and require a broad knowledge base.
Participates in discussions within the business unit. Is"at the table"with service and subservice line leaders. Works with Office Managing Partners when key business issues are discussed affecting their employee population.
May act as a project manager for medium to large projects or oversee portions of major or highly complex projects.
May have responsibility for subordinate specialist staff. Technical knowledge may be a substitute for managerial responsibility.
Possesses skills in key areas of coaching, consulting, facilitation, supporting and leading change, influencing, project management.
Receives general supervision and may work independently on recurring projects.
Seeks guidance on increasingly complex projects or issues.
Understands the firm and relevant businesses.
