Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (foreign equivalent or higher).
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a fundraising office or equivalent experience in a professional customer/client relations field.
Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel required; familiarity using basic production design software, including Canva, a plus.
Prior experience utilizing a database software program, to include: data entry, data reporting and data integrity/auditing.
Superior written, oral and verbal communication skills.
Excellent ability to focus, prioritize and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail, ability to work independently.
Ability to interact appropriately across all organizational levels and with alumni and donors.
Ability to manage confidential information appropriately with a high level of sensitivity and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years' experience in a professional development office in higher education or for a reputable not for profit.
Previous use of fundraising database systems; experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge.
Duties Description The Development Associate position will play an integral role in supporting the Division of Institutional Advancement, which oversee the offices of Development and Alumni Affairs. This position will provide support for all areas of division through the maintenance and utilization of the Raiser's Edge Constituent Relationship Manager system (CRM), and social media management, as well as support with fundraising, engagement and stewardship events. This position will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet and achieve the goals of the Division.
Essential Duties:
Collaborate with the Advancement team to plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and special events.
Utilize the Raiser's Edge CRM to process, record and track gifts, and manage all constituent records. Assist with data integrity auditing to ensure accurate fundraising reporting.
Compose and send acknowledgement letters for all donations in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with division protocol/standards.
Aid in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including managing sponsor and guest reservations, tracking and monitoring sponsor benefits, addressing pre/post event logistics, providing vendor support, coordinating journal ad submissions, other duties as needed.
Collaboratively assist in creating content for newsletters, divisional website updates, and social media to promote fundraising efforts and showcase the impact of donations.
Actively contribute to the production of written materials including annual reports, marketing materials, meeting presentations, donor stewardship reports, and other materials which assist fundraising and donor stewardship.
Work closely with the business office to ensure that donations are recorded correctly and reconciled accurately on a monthly basis.
Aid with fundraising by providing research on potential donors and preparing meeting briefs.
Assist with the production of mailings as required.
Closely collaborate with the Vice President, Director of Alumni Affairs, Development Officer, and communicate with the Board of Directors as needed.

Must work in-person on the SUNY Old Westbury campus Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm - 37.5 hours per week.
